Why Educational Advocacy is Important!

Updated: Feb 6, 2019

As parents it is our responsibility to advocate for our children especially when they are at an age when they cannot speak for themselves. By advocating for our children we establish a relationship with their teachers, create a path upon which we can build upon this relationship and show our children that if they need help we are available to help them.

Highlights of Educational Advocacy

Some of the highlights of educational advocacy include: discussion of successes and shortcomings of our children and teachers within the classroom; ensuring that your children's emotional and academic needs are being met; available avenues for teachers and parents to work together to accomplish defined goals; uniting voices to have greater impact within the educational system; serving as a role model for your children; and fostering collaborative and critical thinking.
